Three common mistakes people make when charging their phones

Gizchina magazine presented three common mistakes people make when charging their smartphones. The magazine notes that mistakes should be avoided that can cause a phone's battery to fail in a shorter amount of time.

It's easy for device owners to develop a habit of charging their device that seems harmless, but can actually have a negative impact on battery life and performance, the article warns.

Charging your phone with the case

According to the article, the first mistake people make is charging their smartphone with a case which is not recommended. This is because it can cause the battery to overheat or break the connector. Therefore, the author of the article recommends removing the case while charging the phone.

Fast charging every day

Fast charging your smartphone every day is the second bad habit people have. If your smartphone has a 40-watt or higher charger, it is important not to use it every day. This habit can significantly worsen battery health in the first year of use, the article says.

According to the author, it's important to charge your phone regularly with a slow charger, especially if you're charging your smartphone at night (which, by the way, is not recommended either).

Discharging the phone to 5% and then charging it

The third common mistake, according to the article, is to discharge the battery below 5% and then only charge. This habit is the worst. Because it puts a lot of stress on the battery when the charge drops below 10-15%. If you repeat this habit every day, your battery will drain faster than usual, warned the author, who believes you should charge your phone when the battery is at 15-20%, but not lower.

Tech News.am previously wrote about proper smartphone charging, suggesting a few more simple rules that, if followed, could prolong battery life.
