Apple is working on a design update for the MacBook Pro laptop, which is expected to hit the market in 2026, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who specializes in Apple devices, reports.

According to him, initially Apple planned to release the updated MacBook Pro in 2025, but due to technical reasons, the deadline had to be moved. The journalist writes that the new laptop will receive an OLED screen, which is similar to the screen used in iPad Pro tablets with Apple M4 processor.

It is also noted that the updated MacBook Pro will be made with a thinner body than the current generation model. When the company switched to its own Apple Silicon chips, the body of the MacBook Pro laptop got a little thicker, but apparently, the developers decided to change course and make the next-generation model as thin as possible.

It is expected that the hardware base of the updated MacBook Pro will be the Apple M6 chip, which will most likely be produced with the 2nm process technology. The advanced processor in combination with the updated design should lead to a significant increase in the efficiency of the device.

As for the MacBook Pro (2025), this model will receive the flagship version of the Apple M5 chip, but apart from this change, other significant innovations should not be expected.
