Samsung has overtaken Apple in US smartphone sales

Samsung has, for the first time, overtaken Apple in smartphone sales in the US domestic market.According to the latest data from CIRP analyst firm, Samsung captured 38% of the market in the last 12 months, while Apple - 33%. This is reported by WCCFTech.

Experts attribute Samsung's success to the company's wide product range, which includes both flagship Galaxy S models and low-end variants such as the Galaxy A series.

This gives the Korean giant an opportunity to attract a wider audience of consumers. Apple continues to focus on premium models, and only the iPhone SE can be classified as a sub-$500 device.

Although Apple maintains high profitability, Samsung's more affordable pricing policy has allowed it to strengthen its position in the market. However, it should be noted that consumer preferences may change again when the new iPhone 16 series is released this fall, which are rumored to have a number of artificial intelligence features.

According to the data of the fourth quarter of 2023, the most sold smartphones in the world are iPhone 15, iPhone 13 and Samsung Galaxy S23 FE. Apple sold 5.3 million iPhone 15 and 2.4 million iPhone 13 during the period. Samsung Galaxy S23 FE sold 2.2 million units. The main models iPhone 14 and Galaxy S23 were also included in the top five, with the result of 1.9 million smartphones and 1.7 million units, respectively.
