New scam method spreads in Armenian domain of Instagram: How to avoid it?

A new scam method is spreading on the Instagram social network: people are misled under the name of advertising, extract bank card data and steal the money on the card, media expert, information security specialist Samvel Martirosyan informs about this on his Facebook page.

He noted that the fraudsters, in particular, contact people on Instagram, including business pages, offer to place paid ads in the Stories, then give a link that offers to fill in the date of the credit card, after which they steal the contents of the card.

"So they come to you on Instagram, they offer to place ads in the Stories. Then they give a link that requires filling in the card data. Well, guess the rest yourself," he wrote and published a screenshot of such a fraudulent page along with the post.

In order not to become a victim of such fraud, NEWS.am Tech again urges readers to check the domain names of suspicious websites, the codes received by SMS and push notifications, never give your bank card and personal data to others and do not enter them on third-party platforms, do not go through messages sent by strangers and with links that seem questionable.
