WhatsApp for iPhone has a new feature

June 27, 2024  10:14

In the new beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone, the messenger no longer stops downloading files if the user closes the app, WaBetaInfo agency reports.

Due to iOS limitations, previously when sending media files to chat, you had to keep the app open until the download was complete, otherwise the download would be interrupted and users would have to resend the file. WhatsApp developers have solved this problem by adding this new feature.

Now, even if the user closes the app while the file is being transferred, the next time the messenger is launched, WhatsApp will send a push notification and prompt the download to continue. This feature is in testing phase and will be available to all users soon.

Those interested can join the beta testing to try out the new feature first. To do this, you need to download version 24.13.10.71 of the application from the App Store.

WhatsApp is also working on a number of other innovations, including hiding group chats, transferring files online. Recently, the messenger introduced chat filters to organize messages and an event scheduling schedule for group chats.
