Update in WhatsApp: You can now use email for authorization

The developers of the WhatsApp messenger have introduced a new feature that allows users to use their email address for authorization on new devices. The innovation is at the testing stage and is available to a limited number of users of beta versions of the mobile application.

Thanks to the update, users will be able to link WhatsApp accounts with email addresses, which will provide the ability to authorize on new devices using a link sent to the specified mailbox. Users will be sent a verification email containing a link to complete the authorization process.

To use this feature, you need to open the “Account” section in WhatsApp settings, select “Email” and enter the mailbox address. This will improve the security of your accounts. In case of refusal to use this function, users can always use existing authorization methods, such as SMS or phone call.

Development of the new feature began in August of this year. It is currently at the testing stage. It is expected that in the future it will be available to all users, but specific dates are not yet known.
