Social network X officially launches audio and video calls

Social network X, formerly known as Twitter, has introduced a new feature - audio and video calls. Users received a notification about the innovation when opening the application, The Verge reports. An option has appeared in the settings that allows you to enable the function and select with whom the user wants to use this tool.

The ability to communicate via video and audio calls is provided with contacts, subscribers and verified users, or all of these categories at once. Calls can be made from private messages by selecting the corresponding phone icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

Interestingly, the new feature has not been officially announced, but Elon Musk has previously hinted at the introduction of voice and video calls as part of the strategy of turning the platform into a super app. There is no information yet about the availability of the feature for users without a premium subscription.
