Bug found in Instagram that could prevent from recording Stories on iPhones

A bug was found in Instagram that could prevent from recording Stories videos on iPhones. Due to a malfunction, the video becomes too large when trying to record it on Stories.

As 9to5Mac explains, you'd normally have to swipe up or down on the screen to zoom in or out. But due to this error, even a slight upward movement results in a sharp and maximal increase in scale.

The bug exists in the latest version of the Instagram app for iPhones. Specifically, it is active on several iPhone models running iOS 16 and iOS 17 beta versions.

However, there is a solution to the problem. Instead of swiping up, users can use the pinch gesture to provide smoother scaling.

Meta will likely release an updated version of this app that will fix this bug, 9to5Mac notes.

Recently, there was a global disruption on the operation of Instagram. The cause is unknown, but the Downdetector resource received at least several hundred thousand reports about this problem in this social media platform in a short period of time. Many users complained that Instagram's photo and video feed was not updating.
