WhatsApp Messenger has launched a new feature in the 2.2316.2.0 update for Windows that allows users to listen to voice messages even when they are outside the chat.

According to the WABetaInfo portal, users can now turn on the voice message and close the chat where it was received and do something else while continuing to listen to the message. This is especially useful for people who receive long messages: now they don't have to stay on that chat page for long to hear the voice message.

The new feature is already available to all users who have downloaded the current beta version of WhatsApp for Windows from the Microsoft Store.

Experts do not rule out that this function may soon become available for users of the stable version of the application.

Recently, the beta version of WhatsApp for Android has also received interesting innovations: a new feature was found in version 2.23.9.19 that will allow the users to move their correspondence from one device to another without saving copies in Google Drive. Recently, another feature has been released that facilitates navigation in communities.

Additionally, the ability to use one WhatsApp account across four different devices, which was previously only available to beta testers, is now available to all users.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp will soon stop supporting older Android versions; the latest beta version of the app will no longer be compatible with versions below Android 5.0.
