In the latest edition of the Power On newsletter, Bloomberg insider and journalist Mark Gurman confirmed the anticipated release of new Mac models with the M4 processor at the end of this year, as reported by 9to5Mac.

The last update to the MacBook Pro and iMac lineup occurred in October of last year at the Scary Fast event, where Apple introduced M3 chips for all models. The MacBook Pro received a new Space Black finish and a more affordable entry-level model, replacing the old 13-inch MacBook Pro with a touch bar. The 24-inch iMac remained largely unchanged, even though the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and Magic Keyboard accessories were not updated to USB-C.

In the upcoming update, expected this fall, Gurman predicts the introduction of new M4 chips. Recall that the M4 chip debuted in the iPad Pro back in May but has not yet been integrated into Mac models.

Gurman also mentioned an upcoming update to the Mac mini, which promises to be more significant. The last update to this model occurred in January 2023 and included a new version with the M2 Pro chip.

However, the most intriguing news is Gurman's mention of substantial changes coming to one of the Mac models with the transition to M4. Since the switch to Apple Silicon, the company has updated the design of most of its Mac computers, except for the Mac Pro and Mac mini. It is likely that one of these models will undergo the "radical changes" Gurman refers to.
