Which smartphone takes best photos and videos?

The best smartphone for taking photos and videos was far from being the iPhone. DxOMark specialists tested the Honor Magic6 Pro camera with a 180 MP periscope and called it the best camera phone. Now this smartphone tops two ratings at once - the global rating of devices with the best cameras and the rating of premium smartphones with the best cameras.

Honor Magic6 Pro is equipped with a main sensor with a resolution of 50 MP, a 24 mm lens and a customizable aperture from f/1.4 to f/2.0. There is also a 50MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 180MP periscope telephoto lens.

According to the publication's experts, Honor Magic6 Pro shows excellent results in various shooting conditions, with the variable aperture especially notable, which provides an increased depth of field at f/2.0, making all participants in group photos clearly focused.

The smartphone also set records within DxOMark for the quality of background blur, natural color reproduction and the quality of pictures taken with the ultra-wide-angle module.

Despite some shortcomings (in particular, not always natural detail and artifacts in complex scenes), Honor Magic6 Pro took first place in the overall DxOMark rating and in the premium smartphone category, scoring 158 points in testing. It is followed by Huawei Mate 60 Pro+ and Oppo Find X7 Ultra with 157 points each.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max in this rating takes only 5th place with 154 points. At the same time, the smartphone shares this place with the cheaper Apple iPhone 15 Pro.

We also note that Google Pixel 7 Pro took 13th place in the ranking with 147 points, and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra took 18th place with 144 points. 20th place on this list is taken by the two-year-old iPhone 13 Pro Max, which scored 141 points.
