Can iPhone smartphones be hacked?

IPhone smartphones are well protected against cyber threats, but elite hackers still hack them regularly. Macworld writes about this.

Although iPhones have the reputation of being virus-free devices, Macworld writes that this is not the case. There is malware for Apple smartphones, but it is almost impossible to accidentally download it.

As a rule, the spread of iPhone viruses is done by elite hackers. They do this in order to spy on high-ranking officials of various states, their entourage and other influential people. A vivid example of such attacks, according to Macworld, is a series of scandals related to the infection of the iPhone with the Pegasus spyware virus developed by the Israeli company NSO Group.

“As we've found, viruses for iOS are rare, and where they are found, they don't affect regular iPhone users. However, this does not mean that Apple smartphone users should not be careful," writes Macworld.

The website warned that, unlike viruses, there are many ingenious iPhone phishing scams that pose a threat to ordinary people.

It should be noted that the phones of Armenian officials were hacked several times through the same Pegasus. Azerbaijan is also one of the active users of this program. According to Armenian specialists and major international research groups, Azerbaijan uses Pegasus as a cyber weapon against Armenia as well.
