Asian contractors of Apple have already commenced assembling the next-generation wireless earbuds, AirPods, slated to hit the market in September or October of this year. According to Bloomberg, this debut batch is expected to be the largest in the entire history of the series, with Apple aiming to release between 25 to 30 million units.

The new AirPods are set to replace their predecessors from the second and third generations and will be available in two versions: B768(E) for the budget range and B768(M) for the mid-range market. The latter will support active noise cancellation technology and feature compact speakers on the case for the Find My function, facilitating the location of misplaced earbuds through sound.

In addition to a more ergonomic design, the next-generation AirPods will come with a USB-C charging port on the case, aligning with new legislative requirements in certain regions where Apple products are sold.

Reportedly, in the fall of this year, the iOS 18 operating system will introduce a hearing aid function for AirPods and offer a software test to assess hearing. Apple Watches are also expected to receive a blood pressure measurement feature, but it will only be available on future generations of the device, with no implementation planned for existing models.

More advanced AirPods Pro will only receive their generation update next year, as explained by Bloomberg. In the more distant future, Apple's wireless earbuds may be equipped with tiny cameras to analyze the surrounding environment for more flexible operational adjustments.
