ChatGPT’s Android app has been launched: When will it be available in Armenia?

July 26, 2023  14:02

The official Android app for ChatGPT AI chatbot is now available. However, it is still available for download on the Google Play store only for users from Bangladesh, Brazil, India, and the United States. It is expected that it will appear in other countries, including Armenia, later. When trying to download the app from Armenia, Google Play recommends a pre-order and promises that the app will be available soon.

ChatGPT's Android app, like the iOS version, is expected to have two version: paid and free. Users of the paid version will be the first to get access to the new features of the service, and during the requests, they will have priority access to the servers.

ChatGPT's iOS app was released in May this year. In less than a week, the app had been downloaded more than 500,000 times.

Launching an Android app can revive users' interest in this chatbot. Recently, according to some experts, it has decreased somewhat. Analytical companies Similarweb and Sensor Tower reported that the number of visits to the platform and downloads of its applications decreased in June. Despite this, ChatGPT held the title of the fastest-growing service in history for a long time, until the launch of the microblogging platform Meta Threads, which was also a huge success.

OpenAI GPT-4 artificial intelligence model underlying the application has also become the technological basis of the Microsoft Bing chatbot, whose Android application has been available for several months. At the same time, the similar service of Google Bard has not yet been released in the form of a separate application and works only in the web interface.

It should be noted that today all major technological giants show interest in artificial intelligence platforms, and recently it became known that Apple is also testing its own chatbot.
