Samsung to present new foldable smartphones։ The release date is already known

May 16, 2023  20:07

Samsung will introduce two new foldable smartphones: Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5. Their release date is already known, and it will happen earlier than expected: the company usually presents the Galaxy Z series devices in August, but this year the presentation will take place on July 26.

As the SamMobile website informs, the early release of new devices may be due to slow sales of semiconductor chips, which greatly affected Samsung's profits. Most likely, Samsung is trying to release the next generation of foldable phones sooner so that the revenue of the third quarter of 2023 is more acceptable.

Samsung's new foldable smartphones are expected to feature teardrop-shaped hinges that use innovative technology to make the crease in the middle of the screen less noticeable. The devices are also expected to have Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors. The smartphones will also retain the IPX7 water resistance rating.

The presentation of the new foldable devices will take place in Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and sales may begin as early as August 11.

It should be noted that Samsung presented two solid smartphones yesterday: Galaxy S23 Tactical Edition and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro Tactical Edition. They are designed for the military and are inspired by the success of the Galaxy S20 Tactical Edition released in 2020, which is still used by thousands of employees of the US Department of Defense.
