Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, told The Street in an interview how Elon Musk and Tesla stole a lot of money from his family. Wozniak also compared Musk to another Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs.

"I put them in the category of having the ability to communicate and wanting to be seen as the important person and being a cult leader," he said.

According to Wozniak, many people will follow such people no matter what they say. He contrasted himself with this type of person by saying that he likes to live an honest life. That's the characteristic he believes is missing from Musk, who Wozniak said repeatedly overestimated and underestimated the potential of his Tesla company.

"A lot of honesty disappears when you look at Elon Musk and Tesla. They have robbed my family — myself and my wife — of so much money, I couldn't tell you, with things they said that we really believed would be real," said Wozniak, who became a Tesla owner in 2016.

He admitted that he spent a lot of money upgrading the Tesla electric car he designed, installing eight cameras and special sensors on it that were designed for unmanned cars. Wozniak said Musk then promised that unmanned cars would be launched by the end of 2016, and the deadline was then extended to 2017. However, this did not happen in 2017 either. Thus, according to Wozniak, Musk "cheated" him and stole money for a feature that did not work.

When asked what the difference was between Elon Musk and Steve Jobs, Wozniak said, "Steve Jobs really wasn't so dishonest. But he would say things in ways... he just had a way of grabbing you. But it wasn't really that untruthful."
