Reddit has unveiled a suite of new publishing tools designed to help media companies more effectively monitor and distribute content on its platform, which boasts over 110 million daily active users. The launch of Reddit Pro tools for publishers marks another step by the social platform toward becoming a key distribution channel for news organizations seeking alternatives to traditional referral traffic sources, reports Times Global News.
The free suite of tools, located in the "Links" tab within Reddit Pro, includes three key features: article analytics, which allow publishers to track which materials are being shared and monitor core metrics such as views, upvotes, and clicks; automatic RSS feed synchronization for instant article distribution; and AI-powered community recommendations that suggest the best subreddits for posting content.
Promising Results from Testing Phase
Reddit conducted alpha testing of these tools throughout 2025 in collaboration with leading news organizations, including The Atlantic, The Hill, NBC News, and The Associated Press. According to Sarakshi Rai, deputy managing editor at The Hill, the platform has become their "primary source of social referral traffic," enabling direct engagement with readers who were previously unreachable through other channels.
The waitlist for beta testing opened on Tuesday, with Reddit planning to accept applications gradually over the next one to three weeks. The company anticipates broader global rollout by 2026.
