Alexander Vurasko, Director of Development at the Solar AURA Digital Threat Monitoring Center, told the aif.ru portal how to determine the presence of spyware on a smartphone. According to him, malware can be extremely secretive, but there are signs that indicate their presence.

Signs of spyware Trojans

  • Unexpected transaction confirmation codes: If you start receiving incomprehensible SMS with confirmation codes, this may indicate the operation of malware.
  • Independent opening of applications: When programs start without your participation, this indicates a possible infection of the device.

However, as the expert emphasized, advanced spyware can mask its activity, making it difficult for ordinary users to detect it.

Types of Trojans

Vurasko identifies two main types of malware:

  1. For remote administration: Such Trojans give attackers full control over the device.
  2. For data theft: These programs are extremely secretive, collect confidential information (passwords, correspondence, payment data) and can self-destruct after completing their tasks.

How to protect yourself from Trojans

The expert notes that the best way to combat spyware is to prevent its installation. To do this, follow the basic rules of cybersecurity:

  • Install applications only from official stores (Google Play, App Store).
  • Avoid suspicious links and attachments in messages.
  • Use antivirus software to detect threats in a timely manner.
  • Limit access of third-party applications to your device data.

If you notice signs of spyware, it is recommended to immediately seek help from specialists or perform a full reset of the device to factory settings.
