WhatsApp developers announced the introduction of a number of functional innovations ahead of the holiday season, aimed at improving the quality of communication and user experience. This is stated on the company's blog.

Users can now select specific group chat participants to have a group call with them. The app also features new effects and masks for video calls, a karaoke microphone function and a voice filter with an “underwater” sound effect.

At the same time, the developers announced a significant improvement in the quality of communication in the desktop version of the messenger. In the application for computers also became available increased resolution for both individual and group video calls.

All innovations are already available in the current version of WhatsApp messenger.
