The adoption of Windows 11 worldwide has unexpectedly slowed down, according to the monthly report of Statcounter.

Thus, the global share of Windows 11 among all Microsoft operating systems (OS) in November amounted to 34.94%. At the same time, in October, it reached 35.58%. The market leader remained Windows 10, the current share of which is 61.83% - in October, it was 60.95%.

At the same time, the share of Windows 11 has been growing every month since May 2024. So, in May it was 27.67%, and in September - already 33.42%. Journalists of the publication Neowin could not find an explanation for the phenomenon.

“With the end of support for Windows 10, which will come in a little more than ten months, its market share of more than 61% looks quite alarming,” the authors noted. According to experts, in three years, Microsoft has failed to move the majority of computers to Windows 11.

In early November, Microsoft named the cost of updates for Windows 10 after the end of support for the OS. Regular users will have to pay $30 for a year.
