Mark Mogle, representative of the US Department of Justice's Expert International Criminal Investigation Training Assistance Program (ICITAP), spoke on the "Did You Know?" program about the impact of modern technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, on forensic science.

He referred to the evolution of DNA analysis, noting that today's technologies have speeded up the processes in this area as well. Mogle emphasizes the importance of quality assurance and public trust in forensic science, noting that the media and education play an important role in public perception.

Mark Mogle also highlights the difficulties of balancing personal data privacy with forensic advances and the need to have international standards in forensic laboratories.

The mission of the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) is to work with foreign governments to develop professional and transparent law enforcement institutions that protect human rights, combat corruption, and reduce the threat of transnational crime and terrorism.

Situated in the Department of Justice's Criminal Division, and funded primarily by the State Department, ICITAP provides international development assistance that supports both national security and foreign policy objectives.
