If we don't have a sufficient number of geologists in Armenia, what problems can arise? YSU Geography and Geology Faculty Dean Sargis Kelyan said during the "Did You Know?" program that the economy will face a very serious crisis.
According to him, during the years of the Soviet Union, geology was one of the most sought-after professions in Armenia, but today there are quite few applicants and if this rate continues, the faculty may simply be closed.
Sargis Kelyan, however, notes that geology students will not have a job problem in the future, specialization is in demand.
