According to a recent report by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP), the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are less popular in the US than Apple's previous-generation smartphones. This is reported by MacRumors.

Among Apple smartphones sold in the first quarter of 2024, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max account for 22% and 23%, respectively. In turn, iPhone 15 occupied 14% of the market share, and 15 Plus had 9%. Notably, the base version of iPhone 14 also accounted for 14% of all sales.

CIRP statistics show that the new iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have less demand not only in 2024, but also in the first quarter of last year compared to previous models. Thus, in the first quarter of 2023, the basic version of iPhone 14 accounted for 19% of all sales, and 14 Plus for 10%. That is, six months after the start of sales, iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are more in demand than iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, by 5% and 1%, respectively.

According to the company, this is the continuation of the trend of the last two quarters. The once flagship iPhone 15 is no longer the primary choice for users, as the Pro and Pro Max models have taken over that role.

Interestingly, according to CIRP, older Apple smartphones are still very popular in the US. Thus, the iPhone SE, iPhone 13, and iPhone 13 mini accounted for 5%, 9%, and 1% of all iPhones sold in the first quarter of 2024, respectively.
