Complying with the requirement of the European Union, Apple will switch from Lightning to USB-C charging system for iPhones, but during the presentation on September 12, it will advertise it as an innovation and will not even mention the EU requirements, Bloomberg journalist and analyst Mark Gourmet has said.

The EU has demanded mobile device manufacturers to switch to the USB-C standard by the end of next year. Apple decided not to wait until the end of next year and added the USB-C standard to all four iPhone 15 models, as well as the new AirPods Pro. “Apple will call this a big win for customers. Get ready to hear about the countless benefits of these changes,” writes Mark Gurman.

According to him, Apple will advertise the transition to USB-C as follows:

"The company has an iron rule: when presenting a new product or communicating with the media, it always wants to act from a position of strength. Apple's keynote presentation will not mention the European Union, nor will it mention that the company has repeatedly criticized the EU's requirement for USB-C over the past few years,” Gurman wrote.

He added that these changes also have disadvantages for Apple:

Apple has officially confirmed that the fall presentation will take place on September 12 at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, USA. It will be held under the slogan Wonderlust.

The new devices will go on sale on September 22, and it will be possible to pre-order them as of September 15.

Earlier it became known that after the presentation of iPhone 15, iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will be withdrawn from production, the prices of other phones would be reduced.
