Armath engineering workshop opened at Kuwait National College

As part of a visit by a delegation representing Armenia's high-tech sector, the official opening ceremony of the Armath Engineering Workshop was held at the National College of Kuwait on January 31.

The opening ceremony was hosted by Hayk Chobanyan, UATE General Director, Shamam Gevorgyan, UATE Educational Programs Director, who presented the achievements of the decade-long Armath educational program, followed by a presentation by students from the Armath Laboratory in Kuwait.

The opening ceremony was attended by Kuwaiti government officials, future partners, representatives of the Armenian community, parents, students, as well as representatives of Kuwaiti churches, private schools and colleges.

On January 29 – February 2 Armenian High Tech delegation pays a working visit to Kuwait. The delegation members are Hayk Chobanyan, Chief Executive Officer of Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE), Shamam Gevorgyan, Educational Programs Director of Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises, Arman Atoyan, Co-Founder of Arloopa and Ashot Arzumanyan, Co-Founder of the SmartGateVC.

On January 29, the Armenian delegation met with Dr. Ammar Al-Hussaini, Acting Director General of the Central Information Technology Agency (CAIT), and then visited the Armenian Church in Kuwait.

On January 30 a presentation on "Armenia's High Tech Sector and its Opportunities" was made during meetings with private companies in Kuwait, which were followed by a question and answer session. The delegation then participated in a reception hosted by the Embassy of Armenia in Kuwait.

On February 1, a meeting was held with Mr. Anas Mirza, executive director of National Technology Enterprises.

The purpose of the visit was to raise awareness of Armenia's high-tech sector and its capabilities,to present it to Kuwait's sectorial state agencies, to present investment opportunities and cooperation with Armenian companies (including start-ups), to establish contacts with private IT companies. The company will also attend the opening of the engineering workshop at the Kuwaiti National College Armath.

The Armath Lab in Kuwait began its work last fall, but the opening ceremony was scheduled for January 31 to present the first results of the workshop to all interested parties.
