Wildberries starts direct sales of products from Armenia to other countries

Wildberries online store started direct sales of goods from Armenia to other countrie: from now on entrepreneurs working in Armenia can use this platform to organize direct sales of their products in other countries where the platform operates. Russia has become the first such country, the company's press service told RIA Novosti.

"Wildberries creates an opportunity for Armenian entrepreneurs to sell products directly to other countries where the platform operates, the first country was Russia. Thanks to this, Armenian producers will be able to expand the range of their products on the online platform and increase revenues," the company said in a statement.

Accordingly, after receiving the orders, the sellers bring them to the company's warehouse in Yerevan, after which the logistics service of the site delivers them to the buyers. At that, the trade commission for the sellers makes 3% depending on the category of the goods.

In mid-May of this year, Wildberries opened its first logistics center in Armenia, which allowed them to sell local businesses directly on the platform. From 2020 to 2021 Wildberries has launched direct sales for representatives of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

The company noted that goods from Armenia are in great demand on the online platform, with sales up 71% year on year for 11 months of this year, reaching 290 million rubles (1.7 billion drams). The fastest growing demand is for such goods as accessories (+958%), cosmetics and perfumes (+449%), household goods (+312%), groceries (+276%) and children's clothing (+267%).

Wildberries is Russia's largest online retail platform, founded in 2004. In addition to Russia, it has services in 15 other countries: Armenia, Belarus, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, USA and Uzbekistan. The company has more than 48,000 employees. Wildberries sells 37,000 brands of clothing, footwear, cosmetics, homeware, children's products, electronics, books, jewelry, food and more.
