The Metacritic rating aggregator has published a list of the worst games of 2024. This rating is based on the average ratings of critics, which allows you to objectively identify the worst projects of the year.
Leaders of the anti-rating:
- Utopia City
- Rating: 23 points out of 100
- Reasons for failure: The graphics, outdated even by the standards of 2006, and the low overall quality level made Utopia City the worst game of the year.
- Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat (mobile game)
- Rating: 41 points
- Criticism: Players and journalists noted the lack of joy in the gameplay, which became the main problem of the project.
- Happy Funland (game for PlayStation VR2)
- Rating: 41 points
- Criticism: Short gameplay and many bugs made Happy Funland a disappointment for VR users.

Metacritic is a popular website that collects reviews of films, games, TV series and other media products, providing average ratings. Founded in 1999, the service was acquired by Fandom in 2022.
The Kotaku portal also recently presented a list of the 10 worst games of the outgoing year: Jujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash was the worst game on that list, receiving 44 out of 100 points. The top 3 also included Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports (47) and Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator (51).
