Apple Corporation has declared 12 Mac computers obsolete. This is reported by MacRumors.
The list includes various models of MacBook laptops and iMac desktop computers that were released between 2015 and 2018. The oldest is an early 2015 MacBook Air, along with three iMacs and one MacBook Pro released in late 2015.
In addition, the 2016 13-inch MacBook Pro, 2016 12-inch MacBook, and 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro were also declared obsolete.
The newest model from the list of obsolete devices is the 13-inch MacBook Pro, which has Thunderbolt 3 connectors. The device was released in 2018.
The source emphasizes that Apple considers its product obsolete when more than five years have passed since its sale.
If Apple declares a product to be obsolete, it means that the product in question will not receive parts repair or service at Apple's authorized stores or authorized service centers. Devices will also not receive software updates.
The other day it became known that Apple is going to hold another event in the coming weeks, during which at least seven new devices will be presented. Apple's second autumn presentation is expected to take place in October 2024.
