It's no secret that Google equips its flagship Pixel smartphones with exclusive features not available on other Android devices. It seems that in the future, users of the company's smartphones can expect another interesting exclusive. We are talking about the AI assistant Pixie, which, according to online sources, will debut on Pixel 9 smartphones.

Currently, Pixel smartphones feature Google Assistant, a full-fledged AI-based voice assistant. However, it is available on all Android devices, making it not exclusive to the company. Given the recent surge in artificial intelligence, it appears that Google wants to endow its smartphones with something more advanced.

Recently, Google announced the AI assistant Google Assistant based on the Bard neural network for devices running Android and iOS. According to online sources, Google is working on creating a new AI assistant called Pixie, which will be exclusive to future Pixel smartphones. Rumors suggest that Pixie's debut is expected next year, simultaneously with the launch of the Pixel 9 smartphones. It is likely to perform the same functions as Google Assistant but may handle more complex tasks.

For example, Pixie may be able to suggest the nearest store where a user can purchase an item depicted in a photo or another image. Another difference between Pixie and Google Assistant will be Pixie's ability to operate autonomously, i.e., without a constant internet connection. The foundation for Pixie is likely to be the Gemini Nano neural network, recently announced by Google, designed for use in mobile devices.
