New feature in ChromeOS will enable people to control mouse and keyboard with face movements

Google is testing a new function called Face Tracking, which will allow users to control their Chromebook laptops using eyes and facial expressions. This will be useful for people who for various reasons cannot or do not want to use a mouse and keyboard.

According to  Xda-developers.com, accessibility may not be one of ChromeOS' best features, but it may be the only way to enable people with disabilities to use computers. The ability to control the mouse and keyboard through facial expressions is also designed for people with different abilities, especially those without hands.

The new feature was introduced in the settings section of ChromeOS 120 beta, but not everyone can activate it at this time. The source also states that it is not known if only Chromebooks will have the new feature. It may also appear on Chromebook Plus devices. It is also not known when the new function will be available to everyone.

Among the features that make computers more accessible is ChromeVox, which allows users to use their voice to open on-screen applications that marked with numbers. Google is probably trying to use a similar method, but not by voice, but by tracking eye movement. It is expected that due to this, the speed of work can increase significantly.

Earlier, Google released an update to ChromeOS that updated the design and expanded the control over the devices. Now there are also advanced privacy settings. The operating system will show you exactly when the camera and microphone are connected.
