Samsung has started developing ISOCELL HU1 cameras with a record resolution of 440 MP for smartphones. This is reported by Wccftech.

"Samsung plans to exceed the threshold of 200 MP for the sensor, the company is preparing to release three new sensors in the second half of 2024, one of which will be 440 MP," said Revegnus, a well-known insider.

At the moment, the Galaxy S23 Ultra model already uses a 200 MP main sensor. However, there is still no exact information on which smartphone model will get the 440 MP sensor.

Revegnus also announced the development of a new 200MP HP7 camera with a pixel size of 0.6µm.

It is important to note that current processors do not support 440 MP sensors. In this regard, Samsung plans to create a new processor that can process such a high-quality image.

According to wccftech experts, all three new sensors will be released in the second half of 2024, and the 440 MP sensor will most likely be used in the premium Galaxy S25 Ultra model.
