Shortage of new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max is expected: How and why?  

Apple has encountered unexpected difficulties in the production of screens for the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max smartphones, which are expected to be released this fall. As The Information reports, these difficulties may lead to a shortage of devices at the start of sales.

The design of the screens of new smartphones has been changed in order to reduce the size of their frames. However, due to this, LG Display, that company responsible for the production of screens, unexpectedly faced difficulties.

LG displays are not usually tested for durability when they are placed in the metal case of smartphones. Apple, however, is now making adjustments to the design of LG's screens to meet the required quality standards.

Interestingly, another supplier of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, Samsung, does not face such difficulties and can supply screens for assembly of the device without any obstacles.

According to The Information, Apple will not delay the release of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, despite difficulties with the production of screens. But this means that the number of devices available during the initial sales period may be limited. Most likely, the biggest shortage will be felt in the case of the iPhone 15 Pro Max model.  

The most expensive model in the iPhone 15 series, the iPhone 15 Pro Max, is expected to be much more expensive than the most expensive model in the iPhone 14 series, the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which started at $1,099 when it was released in fall 2022. True, it is not yet specified how much the new smartphone will cost.
