Instagram experiences global outages

On the night of May 21-22, a global outage occurred in the work of the Instagram social network, by the Downdetector online platform reported, which provides real-time information about the status of websites and services.

The cause of the failure is not yet known. However, Downdetector reports that in a short period of time, at least several hundred thousand reports were received about the failure of the social network. Many users have complained that the feed of Instagram photos and videos does not update.

Instagram recently introduced some new functions, which, however, not everyone will like. One of them is the ability to reply to posts with GIFs, just like on Facebook.

In addition, since March 20, Meta has launched paid verification and "blue check" services for social networks Facebook and Instagram in the United States. Users will have to pay $12 per month for a verified account, or $15 if they pay through the App Store and Google Play, as these platforms charge a commission.
