The Chinese company Xiaomi plans to introduce its first smart watch, which will run on Google's Wear OS operating system and will be a real competitor to the Apple Watch, the Xiaomiui portal reports.

Codenamed M2235W1, the device is said to have already received EEC and TUV PLS certification, and now it has appeared in the database of the Korean NRRA regulator, indicating an imminent release of the watch.

According to rumors, the new Xiaomi smartwatch will have SIM card or e-SIM support, which will allow users to make calls directly on the watch without connecting to a smartphone.

At the moment, no other details about the device have been released. It is assumed that the watch will be released under the name Xiaomi Watch, but the real name of the device is not yet known.

Wear OS is a smartwatch operating system used by Samsung, Google and other major manufacturers. One of the advantages of Wear OS is the ability to install different applications, which is not possible with different fitness trackers.

NEWS.am Tech reported earlier that the Huawei company produced the Huawei Watch 4 smart watch, which for the first time will receive a non-invasive glucometer, which will make it possible to measure the sugar level in the blood without piercing the skin. The smartwatch will also get a sapphire crystal and support satellite connectivity.
