Which smartphones are the easiest to repair? Information worth knowing before buying a phone

Smartphone repair company ElectronicHub (EH) has published a report that lists which smartphone models manufactured in the last few years are easier or more difficult to repair than others – perhaps important information that users should know before buying a smartphone.

The degree of repairability of smartphones was assessed by EH experts based on the average time spent on dismantling these devices and fixing various problems in them.

Thus, the most affordable smartphone for repair is the 2019 Moto G7. It takes an average of 25 minutes to repair these phones 50% of the time.

In second place is the 2019 Samsung Galaxy A40, which recovers in 32.6 minutes (42.9% of cases).

Another Samsung smartphone, the Galaxy S22 (2022), completed the top three, which required 48.1 minutes (33.3% of cases) to disassemble and repair.

Also included in the top ten are:

• iPhone 11 Pro Max (63.2 minutes in 30% of cases)
• iPhone 12 (67.8 minutes in 25% of cases),
• Poco M3 (35.6 minutes in 20% of cases),
• OnePlus Nord 2 (44.1 minutes in 20% of cases),
• iPhone 14 (47.7 minutes in 20% of cases),
• Poco F3 (51.2 minutes in 20% of cases),
• iPhone 12 (72.2 minutes in 20% of cases).

In parallel with this, the Google Pixel 7 (2022) smartphone was recognized as the most difficult device to repair, the repair of which takes more than 60 minutes in all cases.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 (2019) smartphone took the second place in the ranking of anti-record holders, with an estimate of 58.4 minutes in all cases. The third generation iPhone SE completed the top three with 55.6 minutes in all cases.

The worst ten includes also:

• Redmi Note 7 (53.8 minutes),
• Xiaomi Mi 9 (53,6 minutes),
• Huawei P30 Pro (53 minutes),
• Redmi Note 11 Pro (45,4 minutes),
• Google Pixel 3a XL (45 minutes),
• Samsung Galaxy A72 (43,5 minutes),
• Samsung Galaxy A53 (40,5 minutes):

In conclusion, EH experts noted that, on average, Apple and Asus smartphones are the easiest to repair on your own. Dismantling Sony devices for repair is the least recommended by experts.
