The head of Google, Sundar Pichai, earned 226 million dollars last year, according to the report of Google's parent company, Alphabet Corporation. As Reuters reports, this income is more than 800 times higher than the average annual income of an average Google employee.

According to Alphabet's published report, many of the corporation's top executives received between $22 million and $35 million in stock last year. Pichai is actually several times ahead of his colleagues in this regard.

Since last year, the giants of the IT sector have started massively reducing the number of their employees. Alphabet announced in January that it would lay off 12,000 people.

In early April, the company's CFO Ruth Porat announced that Google would also start saving money by providing employees with laptops and other elements of the compensation package. Although it's still hard to say what austerity measures will ultimately affect Google's top management.

In several other corporations, management has announced that they will give up part of their income as part of savings. For example, Intel executives have announced that they will forgo part of their bonuses for six months, and Apple CEO Tim Cook will receive $49 million this year, a 50% decrease from a year ago.
