New York startup introduces hoverboard that can't be ridden

A New York startup has introduced a hoverboard that does not have wheels; instead it can fly, Hi-Tech Mail.Ru reports.

This hoverboard named Flyte is made of aluminum. There is also a special stand with it, thanks to the magnetic power of which the hoverboard is able to rise into the air.

However, Flyte will disappoint fans of extreme sports and the latest technology, as it cannot possibly be ridden because its flying function is purely decorative.

"This gem is a perfect combination of art and technology, and it's guaranteed to add a touch of magic to your life. I mean, who doesn't want to see a real hoverboard soaring through the air? And you know what the coolest part is? You don't even have to be a magician to do it!" it says in the description of the device.

Kickstarter is now raising funds for the manufacture of Flyte.

The Flyte hoverboard will cost $1,799.
