Apple is preparing one of the most noticeable upgrades to its voice assistant in recent years. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the demonstration of the improved Siri will take place in the second half of February 2026, either at a dedicated event or through closed press briefings.
When to expect it and on which devicesThe updated Siri will be part of iOS 26.4. The first beta version of the system will appear in February, and the public release is expected in March or early April. The new features will be available only on the iPhone 15 Pro and newer models, as these devices have enough computing power to support Apple Intelligence.
Apple originally announced a much smarter Siri at WWDC 2024, but the release had to be postponed due to technical difficulties. Now the company has chosen a partnership approach with Google, using an adapted version of the Gemini model as the foundation.
Personalization and new capabilitiesThe key difference of the new Siri is deep personalization. The assistant will be able to rely on the user’s personal data, analyze on-screen content, and perform complex tasks without excessive clarifications. This applies to working with mail, messages, notes, and other applications. Siri will become far better at understanding context and vague or incomplete requests.
At the same time, there will be no visible references to Google in the iOS interface. As with ChatGPT integration, the underlying model will remain in the background.
Two stages of developmentThe current version based on Gemini is only an intermediate step. In iOS 27, Siri is expected to become a full-fledged chatbot capable of long conversations and functionality on the level of Gemini 3. According to rumors, it will operate directly on Google’s servers. This will allow Apple to avoid investing heavily in its own large-scale models while still maintaining full control over the user experience.
In briefApple will present the updated Siri based on Google Gemini in the second half of February 2026 together with the beta version of iOS 26.4. The assistant will gain deep personalization, the ability to work with on-screen content, and the power to handle complex tasks. The full release is expected in spring, and in iOS 27 Siri will evolve into a Gemini 3 level chatbot running directly on Google’s servers. This will be one of the most significant upgrades to the voice assistant in many years.
