The Polish company MAB Robotics has demonstrated the capabilities of its new Honey Badger robot. the four-legged robot walks on the bottom of the pool, reports TechChrunch.
The video shows how reliable the design of the robot is and how dynamic it is. According to the developers, the Honey Badger, originally designed for ground operations, will be useful in disaster search and rescue missions.
"Developing systems that can navigate underwater terrain is an exciting journey, and I'm excited about the potential impact this work can have on monitoring and maintenance services in flood-prone areas," said Jakub Bartoszek, co-founder and CEO of MAB Robotics.
Searching for victims and rescuing them is one of the most important problems facing autonomous robotic systems. Their use eliminates the need for humans to visit potentially dangerous areas in natural and man-made disasters.
