The internet has officially entered a new era: automated bot traffic has, for the first time, exceeded traffic generated by real humans. This was reported by Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince.

According to Cloudflare Radar data, for the period from May 29 to June 4, 2026, bot traffic accounted for 57.5% of all global HTTP requests for HTML content. Human traffic made up only 42.5%.

This happened faster than he had predicted, Prince wrote on X, commenting on the statistics.

The growth in bot traffic is largely driven not by traditional search engine crawlers, but by modern AI agents. These systems actively scan the web, collect data for training neural networks, perform automated tasks, and increasingly mimic human behavior online.

Prince noted that the graphs may look somewhat chaotic, but the overall trend is already clear and consistent.
