The Memorandum of Understanding signed today between Armenia and France in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and semiconductors aims to promote cooperation between the two countries in these strategic areas by developing research and innovation capacities, as well as facilitating the implementation of joint programs. This was stated by Armenia’s Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.

“It covers a broad range of cooperation, including the development of high-performance computing infrastructure, data science and machine learning, the digitalization of public services, as well as the application of artificial intelligence across various sectors of the economy.

Another important document was also signed — a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia and the Ministry of Defense of the French Republic on cooperation.

The document is aimed at deepening cooperation between the two countries in research, development, and innovation in military technologies and defense systems. It defines a framework for joint activities, including the exchange of experience, the implementation of joint programs, and the development of the defense industry.

The signed documents create new opportunities for deepening Armenia–France cooperation in the high-tech sector, contributing to technological progress, the development of innovative ecosystems, and the strengthening of bilateral strategic partnership,” the minister wrote.

It should be recalled that during the state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Armenia on May 5, important documents were signed aimed at advancing bilateral cooperation in high technologies and the defense industry.
