Among companies with a market capitalization of at least $10 billion, Oklo Inc. recorded the largest increase last week. The shares of this company, which designs small modular nuclear power plants, rose 63.50% in a week—to $135.23 per share. Next is Figure Technology Solutions, Inc., a financial technology company, with a 38.34% increase to $44.96 per share. This top three is rounded out by Bullish, a cryptocurrency exchange platform, with a 33.45% increase to $69.18 per share.

The top three largest companies with large capitalization that recorded the largest losses last week starts off with FactSet Research Systems Inc., a provider of financial analytical data, whose shares fell 20.09% in a week—to $289.15 per share. Next is Builders FirstSource, Inc., a supplier of building materials, with a 13.02% decrease to $124.15 per share. This top three is rounded out by medical device manufacturer DexCom, Inc., down 11.51% to $67.45 per share.

The major US stock market indexes closed last week with growth again: the Nasdaq rose by 2.2% for the week, the S&P 500—by 1.2%, and the Dow Jones—by 1.05%, which is mainly due to the reduction in interest rates by the US Federal Reserve and expectations among investors of further easing of monetary policy.

Global equity funds saw $38.66 billion in outflows last week, the biggest weekly outflow since 2020. Bond funds, by contrast, saw $12.2 billion in inflows—although the figure fell to a 10-week low. Money market funds saw $9.12 billion in outflows, after inflows of nearly $60 billion in the previous two weeks. Gold and precious metals funds saw $1.69 billion in inflows.

Nvidia announced on September 18 that it will invest $5 billion in Intel. The deal will make Nvidia one of Intel's largest shareholders, taking a share of about 4%. The deal sent Intel's shares up 23% and provided a boost to the struggling American chipmaker after years of failed attempts to rebuild.

Goldman Sachs raised its year-end forecast for the S&P 500 to 6,800 from 6,600, which implies a potential upside of 2.04% compared to the last closing price. Also, the bank raised its six- and 12-month forecasts to 5% and 8% growth expectation, respectively, which would mean the index would reach 7,000 and 7,200, correspondingly.

On Monday, 3 billion drams of government bonds were placed on Armenia’s stock market, and they will be redeemed on January 19, 2026. The public auction had three participants, and the bids submitted by them amounted to 6.5 billion drams. The weighted average price of the placed government bonds was 97.5417 drams, and the yield was 7.6889 percent.

The number of new unemployment benefit applications in the US fell by 33,000 to 231,000 in the week that ended on September 13, thus restoring last week's growth. The number of applications in the week before that had reached 264,000, the highest since October 2021.

On September 17, the US Federal Reserve cut the refinancing interest rate by 0.25 percentage points for the first time in 2025, bringing it to a range of 4.00%-4.25%. Two more cuts are expected during the year due to the weakening labor market.
