Meta AI's assistant will soon speak in the voices of celebrities. According to a Reuters source, Meta Platforms, the owner of Facebook, plans to announce this week that it has signed agreements with actors, including Judi Dench, Kristen Bell, and John Cena, to lend their voices to its AI chatbot.

The list of celebrities whose voices will be available for Meta AI will also include actress and singer Awkwafina, as well as actor Keegan-Michael Key, the source reported. The presentation of the AI chatbot's new features is expected to take place at the annual Connect conference, which begins on Wednesday.

Meta is also expected to unveil the first version of its augmented reality glasses at the event and share plans for other gadgets, including Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, which were the first devices to receive audio chatbot support from Meta AI last year.

The option to select a celebrity voice for Meta AI will become available in the U.S. and other English-speaking markets this week, across Meta's family of apps, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

Currently, Meta AI's chatbot supports text conversations and can generate images on demand. Last year, the company launched text-based chatbot versions with characters inspired by celebrities like Paris Hilton and Snoop Dogg, but the option didn’t gain much popularity with users. Following that, Meta began using its AI Studio product, which allows content creators on its platforms to design chatbot characters in their own likeness.
