The Wildberries online trading platform is starting to pay compensation for the goods that were burnt due to the fire that occurred in the warehouse complex of the platform in St. Petersburg. In addition, the company will promptly open a new center in St. Petersburg.

"Within two weeks, new facilities for the St. Petersburg sorting center will be put into operation. This will help to quickly return to normal work and organize the supply of goods. The new center will help reduce the load on the existing Utkina Zavod warehouse, and from there the products will be moved to other warehouses for sorting and delivery to customers," Wildberries said in a statement.

The official Telegram channel Wildberries also informs that, in addition, as of today the online trading platform will start paying the first compensation to the sellers whose products were damaged by the aforementioned fire.

"From January 15, we plan to start paying compensation to sellers. The amount of compensation will be calculated as if the product was sold on January 13," the company commented.

In order to determine the exact amount of compensation, the data obtained from the electronic accounting systems will be checked, and the warehouse will be checked after receiving permission from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Let's remind that on January 13, a fire broke out in the Wildberries warehouse complex located in the Shushar settlement of the Pushkin district of St. Petersburg, burning an area of about 50,000 square meters.
