The team at Russia's largest online retail platform, Wildberries, has initiated new measures to combat fraudulent activities. The company has made the decision to set a maximum fine cap of 100,000 rubles for unfulfilled orders placed by third parties during unauthorized access to a seller's account.
Previously, Wildberries' Information Security Service had issued warnings about an increase in fraudulent activities and attempts by wrongdoers to gain access to sellers' personal accounts. As promised by the company, actions by these malefactors are promptly neutralized, and each incident is subject to individual internal investigation.
Now, Wildberries is enhancing its terms and conditions for sellers. In this regard, the penalty for unfulfilled orders placed during unauthorized access will not exceed 100,000 rubles. The company's press office specified that these changes will come into effect in the near future.
However, Wildberries is already applying the new rules on an individual basis to minimize penalties. This may even include a complete recalibration for previous periods if the results of internal investigations confirm unauthorized access by third parties to a seller's account, the company said.
