Developers of the real-time strategy video game Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition have announced a new expansion called "The Mountain Royals," dedicated to two Caucasus nations - Armenians and Georgians. Previously, insiders had reported on the upcoming DLC.
On the official game website, a detailed overview of the historical context in which the Caucasus peoples thrived has been published. Players can delve into the relationships between Armenians and Georgians with the Mongols, Byzantium, Turks, Tamerlane, and other neighboring civilizations.
Georgia and Armenia will feature their unique characteristics and units that reflect their specific identities. In the campaign for Georgia, players will assume the role of Queen Tamar, while in the Armenian campaign, they will embody Tigran II the Great.
"The Mountain Royals" expansion will be available on October 31st. It can be purchased on the Steam platform for $12.5.
Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition was released in 2019 and has become a favorite among real-time strategy game enthusiasts. The game is available on PC and also on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles. The original Age of Empires 2 was initially launched back in 1999.
