Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, said that starting Monday, the free function of publishing Stories will be gradually introduced in the messenger. Durov announced this on his Telegram channel.

Durov noted that the launch of the free version of this function marks a new phase in the history of Telegram. "While this past decade was exciting, the next 10 years will be the time when Telegram reaches its true potential," he wrote.

“The next step for Telegram is to go beyond messaging and spearhead innovation in social media in general. We should use our popularity to change the lives of billions for better, to inspire and uplift people on our planet," Durov added.
Telegram launched its Stories function on July 21, but at that time it was accessible solely to users with a Premium subscription.

The company had informed that the publication of Stories in July was accessible only to Telegram Premium subscribers, but it may become accessible to everyone in August.

Telegram Stories is located at the top of the screen, it appears only on AppStore and Google Play after you update the messenger app.

Pavel Durov had announced his plans to launch Telegram Stories at the end of June. According to him, many users have asked for this function to be added to the Telegram app.

The users of Telegram Stories, he said, will be able to choose who can view each of them. 

Also, you will be able to choose when the posted Telegram Stories shall expire: in 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours. 
In addition, there will be an option to display them permanently on the user's profile page, with individual privacy settings for each.
