Huawei presents 4 smartphones at once: What features do they have?

April 18, 2024  18:17

Huawei has introduced the Pura series of smartphones, which includes four smartphones: the main Pura70, Pura70 Pro, Pura70 Pro+ and Pura70 Ultra. With all Huawei smartphones, the main focus is on the camera. Smartphones stand out, of course, with other features.

Pura70

The smartphone received a 6.6-inch OLED LTPO screen with a resolution of 2760 x 1256 pixels, second generation Kunlun Glass protective glass. Frame rate is up to 120 Hz, PWM frequency is 1440 Hz.

The smartphone has received SoC Kirin 9010 processor and GPU with Maleoon 910, but how much it differs from Kirin 9000 is still unclear, there is no mention of it on the company's website, not even the name is mentioned anywhere. This probably suggests that Huawei has nothing to brag about in this regard, and the Kirin 9010, even if noticeably different from the Kirin 9000, cannot compete with modern SoC rivals.

The device has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 1 TB of built-in memory. Apart from that, the phone has a 4900mAh battery with 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.

The main sensor has a resolution of 50 MP and a 1/1.3-inch optical format, so it is not the largest sensor. Of course, there is optical stabilization, and Huawei promises very high-quality photos and videos. The camera system also includes a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP periscope camera with optical stabilization and 5x optical zoom.

Huawei Pura70 has Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 and dimensions of 157.6 x 74.3 x 7.95 mm, weight: 207 g. In China, the price starts at $760.

Pura70 Pro and Pura70 Pro+

These models are somewhat different from the Pura70, but they are very similar. Both have received a 6.8-inch OLED LTPO screen with a resolution of 2844 x 1260 pixels, a frequency of up to 120 Hz and a PWM frequency of 1440 Hz. The smartphone received the same Kirin 9010 processor.

The Pura70 Pro has the same RAM as the base model, i.e. 12GB of RAM and 256GB to 1TB of built-in storage. And the Pura70 Pro+ has 16 GB of RAM and there is no 256 GB built-in memory option. That seems to be the only difference between the two Pro versions.

The first major difference between the Pro and regular models is the battery. Older devices have a 5050mAh battery, 100W wired and 80W wireless charging, and another 20W reverse wireless charging.

The second difference is the camera. Here, the main sensor is the same, with a 50MP resolution in a 1/1.3-inch optical format. There is OIS and variable aperture. The ultra-wide-angle camera is 12.5 MP and the telephoto camera is 48 MP. It provides 3.5x optical zoom.

The new smartphones measure 162.6 x 75.1 x 8.4mm, both weigh 220g, have water resistance (IP68), Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and USB-C 3.1 Gen 1. The Pura70 Pro starts at $900 and the Pro+ starts at $1,100.

Pura70 Ultra

Even in China, this device costs $1,380. And at the same time, it's not noticeably or at least not better than even the basic Pura70. For example, the screen of this device is at least the same in terms of parameters as the screen of the Pro models. The smartphone has a 6.8-inch OLED LTPO display with a resolution of 2844 x 1260 pixels, a frame rate of 120 Hz and a PWM frequency of 1440 Hz. This device also runs on the same Kirin 9010.

Memory options are the same as the Pro+, with 16GB of RAM and either 512GB or 1TB of built-in storage. But the battery is more powerful: 5200 mAh. Meanwhile, charging is the same as the Pro models, i.e. 100W wired, 80W wireless and 20W reverse.

In the case of the Ultra model, the company has completely focused on the camera. The main camera is 50 MP and has a 1-inch sensor with variable aperture. But that's not all. For the same main camera, Huawei has implemented a movable lens. The company focuses on reliability, claiming that the mechanism will work for 300,000 cycles. Apart from that, the sound of its operation is supposed to evoke a premium feel.

Huawei also promises that the photos will be clear and of good quality, even if the subject moves at a speed of 300 km/h. However, the company does not specify for what distance it is applicable.

The smartphone also got a 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 50MP telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom.

The Ultra version also has dual-mode support for satellite communication at once. can work with Beidou and Tiantong networks. The first allows you to send and receive messages, including images, and the second is needed for calls.

The smartphone has an eco-leather cover and water protection, dimensions: 162.6 x 75.1 x 8.4 mm, weight: 226 g.
