IKEA has unveiled a device that analyzes and monitors air quality in the house or other indoor areas. The new device has support for Matter technology, which allows you to connect it to IKEA Home, Apple Home and other popular smart home management platforms.

The device is dubbed the Vindstyrka and is designed as a small desktop device. On the front of the device is a backlit screen that displays all the real-time data. The control button is located on the top of the device.

The Vindstyrka can receive data on particulate matter (PM2.5), humidity, temperature, and total volatile organic compound (TVOC) levels in the air. All data is displayed on the screen. The device also has a scale that indicates air quality with color indicators.

The novelty, as mentioned above, has support for Matter, so it can connect to Dirigera's proprietary tablet. After that, all the data will be available in the IKEA Home mobile app. It is also mentioned that Vindstyrka has support for smart home management platforms from Apple, Google and Amazon.

Vindstyrka data can be used for various smart home scenarios. For example, you can set the air purifier to turn on automatically when it detects a certain level of air pollution in your home.

The device is expected to go on sale in April 2023, but IKEA has not yet specified how much the novelty will cost.
