DOOM gets its own dedicated handheld: Evercade will release just 3,000 units

Evercade has unveiled a special version of its Nexus handheld console, commemorating the 35th anniversary of the legendary DOOM series. The edition, dubbed the Nexus DOOM Edition, will be produced in an extremely limited run of just 3,000 units worldwide.

What's in the box

The console features DOOM‑themed styling. Alongside the device, buyers will receive:

• a special DOOM Collection cartridge;
• a hard carry case;
• a poster;
• a DOOM‑universe comic book.

The DOOM Collection cartridge is the main gaming addition. It will also be sold separately, so the special edition is aimed not only at retro gaming enthusiasts but also at collectors of physical releases.

When and how much

Pre‑orders for the Evercade Nexus DOOM Edition opened on 7 August. The bundle is priced at $249.99. Shipping of the first units is scheduled for 30 October.

With a total run of just three thousand units, this version is certain to become one of the rarest Evercade console variants.
